Don't let the little ad fool you. These engines are enormous. There is a 3 cylinder Kahlenberg engine at the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes in Kingston Ontario. It is 90 hp. Each cylinder is about one and a half feet in diameter and six feet tall. The entire engine is about 8 feet long. It would be a neat collectible as long as you never, ever have to move it. You can usually tell the size of the engines in the old ads by noting the relative size of the hand grip on the reverse gear lever. |
