14TH ANNUAL CHESAPEAKE ANTIQUE BOAT & MARINE ENGINE SHOW
Solomons, Maryland USA
MAY 3-4, 2014

2013

February 4, 2014

Dear Antique Boat and Marine Engine Enthusiast:

As we endure the coldest winter in recent years, the Calvert Marine Museum is looking forward to the warmer weather and the Antique Boat & Marine Engine Show, May 3-4, 2014 as part of the eighth annual Solomons Maritime Festival celebrating Southern Maryland traditions. The show hours are 10am – 5pm on Saturday and 10am – 3pm on Sunday. The schedule of events for Saturday’s Maritime Festival will be available on our website, www.calvertmarinemuseum.com.

As in the past, the marine engines and vintage boats will be on display in front of the museum and in the parking lot. Once again, we will have a forklift available for those requiring extra help unloading and loading. Although there will be no judging, each exhibitor will receive a commemorative plaque of the event.

If you would like to participate, please complete the enclosed registration form. There is no registration fee. The event is open to collectors of pre-80 outboard and inboard engines, antique marine steam engines, and model engines. Antique and classic boats of all kinds can be displayed on trailers or afloat in the museum's boat basin. Please return the registration to me by April 18, 2014. Once it is received I will send a confirmation. If you have any questions regarding registration, please contact me at 410-326-2042 ext. 19 or email [email protected]. For all other questions
contact Richard Dodds (ext. 31 or email [email protected] ).

Your invitation includes a list of local accommodations. We have reserved a block of rooms for Friday and Saturday nights at the Holiday Inn Solomons at the reduced rate of $98 per night plus tax. The rooms have been reserved under Calvert Marine Museum, Maritime Festival until April 18, 2014. When calling for reservations you must give the Holiday Inn the code “MMF.”

On Saturday evening, all participants are invited to our traditional supper in the boat basin at 6:00 p.m. We have managed to hold the cost again to $15 per person. If you wish to join us, please include a check payable to the Calvert Marine Museum with your registration. Once again, we will also offer a free continental breakfast on Sunday morning. Indicate on the registration form if you will be taking advantage of this offer.

Hard to believe that this is our fourteenth Antique Boat & Marine Engine Show and we are grateful to all those who have been faithful supporters over the years. In these difficult economic times, we have kept our costs the same as last year, thanks to our sponsors and your donations. Please join us in 2014 for a celebration of antique boats and marine engines.

Sincerely,

Sherry Reid, Volunteer/Event Coordinator
