Hello everyone,
this is my first post in this forum. I am on the search for a specific style primer cup. I have three and need three more that match. They are the original style for the engine that I am putting together. It is a car engine, but I hope that this community can still be of help, since early marine engines used them too. These specific ones are bronze, which is different than most primers for cars. I have seen that there are some primer cup collectors on here and perhaps one of you may have some primer cups in your spare parts. Any advice on where to go from here is appreciated. I attached a couple pictures of what I currently have.
Ryan

Are those primers 1/8 or 1/4 NPT? I may have some.

Thank you for checking. Maybe someone else will or knows who to ask.

Not sure this is an exact match, and it is well used. Spring needs a bit of tightening; otherwise works fine.

Very interesting. Is that brass or bronze?

Sorry, this isn't what it seems. The handle part is bronze and the body is brass. Seemed odd so I took it apart to clean inside - the handle part is for a right angle primer with two holes at right angles. My apologies for misleading you.

Not a problem! I'll keep it in consideration. I appreciate any leads I can get.

I have a pattern made but its the 90 degree or right angle type 1/8--27 thrd your welcome to use it. They are not the easiest thing to machine

Thanks Dick, I'll keep you in mind if I go that route. There's a couple years until the car is finished, so I'm going to try and find the last couple before making some new ones. It sounds a little costly. What was the biggest challenge, if you don't mind me asking?

figuring out how to hold and machine casting was the hard part. I have lots of pictures showing steps. the patterns are easy, casting cost minimal if patterns are mounted on a board. I think i made 6 patterns so you get 6 casting from each mold . your straight primers would be much easier to machine
