I am usually not in the habit of promoting ebay sales here, but my old friend (not old in years of life, just years of friendship) Mike Farmer asked me to mention that he is selling some of his father's remaining books and magazines. They are listed on ebay by username upauctionshop , that link should work... if it doesn't you may have to go to ebay search member feature and look for it. You will have to sift through some non-marine items that they have listed too. comments from Mike...
Quote:Right now I'm in the process of disposing of the remainder of my father's books, etc.. I've placed the task in the hands of a couple local gals who've started an eBay auction drop wherewith they handle the whole ball of wax - - from the listing, collecting and shipping for me. They are midway in the process of this now, and I'm wondering if it is possible to notify the boating world through your site that they are available and how to find them.

I used to communicate (by mail-this was a LONG time ago)with a Jerry Farmer who was all into Canadian inboards. I believe his father was an author of boat related books. Any relation? Tom Stranko |

Tom, Yes... Weston Farmer was a naval architect, author, draftsman, designer, writer, editor, etc, etc. A book that contains a collection of his writings is still in print, From My Old Boatshop. Three of his sons are Mike (the message above), Jerry, and Wes. They are all three very active and still interested in old boats and engines. I don't think they use email much, although Mike does occasionally. |
