Hi all, First post. I have had the engine running on a bench with a lot of intermittant smoke & seeping oil. The consensus is the rings need replacing. Does any one know where I can get diagonally scarfed rings made? Anyone have any info or history on this engine. I read somewhere that Kelvin started building the 3.5 inch in 1915? |

Hi Jeff, Welcome. Diagonal, stepped or straight, the type of gap is non critical. More important is the condition of the bottom surface of the groove. |
