Hi all,
In 1995 we left Akuna Bay, Cowan Creek just north of Sydney Australia (Iwas shipwright at the marina),heading home to NZ. Just before we left, my wife and I sold our 13' clinker putt putt with a freshly overhauled Clay Bantum to a guy who I think belonged to (or was president of)a small boat preservation society, or wooden boat club. I think he was from West Sydney. Rosie was the prettiest little boat I'd seen with perky sheer plumb stem and a stunning backside.(a bit like my wife in those days) When we bought her we towed her home,(home was our 52' trawler) and set about re-building the Clay. By the time we sold her the Clay was back together and the boat freshly painted, but we never got to go for a ride! If anyone knows her whereabouts I'd love to find out how she's fared. I haven't been able to find the photos nor the details of her then proud new owner. If any one can help I'd appreciate it greatly!
Cheers, Grant.

Hi Grant,
Gather you mean a CLAE BANTAM (CLAE Central Launch and Engine Company) BANTAM (small domestic fowl).
There are a few references on this site under 'search'
Also try the Wooden Boat Association of NSW.

Sorry I don't know their address but members look at this site regularly

Gidday Senojn,

That would be right! Thanks for the clarification. I'll keep up the search and hope that I wake in the middle of the night remembering the guy's name. I still have some old boxes to go through and might come up with a photo or two.

Cheers, Grant.

Hi Grant,

I have posted your enquiry to a few people who may be able to help. Also posted it to the Wooden Boat Australia (WBA) and Steam Boat Assoc of Australia. (SBAA) so awaiting any reply. If I get anything I will pass it on to you.

Cheers,

Dave

Hi Dave, thanks for that. We are going to make a concerted effort this weekend to go thru the old stuff and see if we cant find a photo. I read some of the stuff you all posted on the Putt Putt regatta's and it reminded me of the anual event we used to have in Pitwater (we lived around there for a while) and I remember Rosie won the event one year.
Cheers, Grant.
