Hello I am rebuilding a small caille inboard engine bore 3 1/4 stroke 3 1/2 no tag must be about 1 or 2 hp, I need a set of rings about 1/4 in. wide 3 rings 2 at top 1 at bottom is there some place I can order them also I am missing the exhaust housing 3 in. any one have these parts THANKS |

In my opinion not many of these old inboard engines are improved with new rings. If your existing rings are eliptical and they fit reasonably well before I would try to replace them with non eliptical modern rings I would make sure the compression is adequate for operation. I don't think simply replacing the eliptical rings with non eleptical rings will necessarily work better because the pressure of the expanded ring in the bore can produce serious stiffness in the piston cylinder wall.
