I don't know anything at all about gas outboard engines, but I've got this one to fix up. It'a Firestone 5 hp, probabaly made in the 1950's. It requires 1/2 pint of SAE 30 oil added to each gallon of gas. I hope to be able to run this engine on my 14' aluminum fishing boat. It has a metal plate with starting/running instructions. I just don't know anything about testing it/trying it. I've ordered about 5 old used books on outboards for some general advice. Anybody have any suggestions? -Thanks |

Try looking up aomci.org on the web or post your state and town and I can locate an antique outboard motor club inc. chapter for you who will be of help. |
