found this on the reef wondering how old it is so we can trace to the wreck. doesn't look too old but we are unaware of any recent wrecks. there are two smokestacks. any idea what type of ship this engine would run?

Thanks Robert for that info, that's a big help! There was a Cat 4 hurricane in 1931. We'll see if we can trace any ships that might have had this equipment on board and went down during the storm.

Just my guess of course Linda, but more detailed photos would help. 5 or 6 cylinders by the look of it and quite possibly a diesel. Would have been a pretty sizable vessel and of course reefs welcome vessels of all kinds in any weather!
