ihave had this marine? engine for many years..no makers name 1cyl 4 stroke,automatic inlet valve [suction] the bosch mag that came with it is dated as 1903 but may be a later fitment.. any info gratefully received..robby.derby england.07973110069 |

DeDion was a very early auto manufacturer. You should really talk to people in the Vintage Car Club in the UK, though your best bet would the Science Museum in London for an impartial opinion. |

thanks for the info robert.yes the french de dion boulton ..1883~1932 are credited as the first sucessful hi speed petrol engine.and sold licences to many manufacturers,eg harley&indian..my engine is water coold with one piece cast iron head barrel& valve chest,suction inlet.the crankcase and integral forward and reverse gear box are made in aluminum ..i will try again to upload photos [file to large?] |
