Hi there I have recently aquired a boat on an auction, and it looks like the engine might be salvageable. I do however, need some expert advice on what exact model it is & what can be done with it. Research suggests that this is a modified Napier Sea Lion engine.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Power_Boat_Company#cite_note-0) I am attaching 2 photographs.More can be obtained if need be. Best regards |

Hi LJ Congratulations on your purchase. I would like to find out some more. From what I can see, this looks like a Power-Meadows 100/6. It should have twin amal carbs on the other side. The BPBCo marinised a range of engines including Meadows, Napier, Rolls-Royce, Packard and Perkins. Do you have any other pictures of your boat? How big is she? Where is she? I may be able to identify her as I have quite a bit of information on these boats that came from my grandfather at BPBCo and have assisted in the resoration of several too. Best regards Andy |

Hello Andy Thanks for the prompt response! To give you just a bit more info surrounding this purchase... My girlfriend bought the boat on an auction,as I mentioned. (still dont know why she did it!) ;) Anyway, the boat itself, unfortunately,is in a terrible state. It would cost a hell of a lot to restore it. I was thinking of selling the boat for scrap metal & salvage the engine to sell it. I can get more pictures of the boat & engine if you are interested. Both are in Johannesburg, South Africa. Best regards LJ |
