My sources say it's a 1937 Handitwin; 2-1/2 HP. Fuel mix calls for 1/3 pt. per gal. of 40W oil. I'd suggest 1/2 pt. per gal. of the modern TCW-2 or 3. This thing has bronze bushings throughout; no rollers or needles. Really does need a "thick" mix. Spark plug recommendation was originally for a Champion C7; a "warm" plug; gapped at .025. Currently available plugs would be a Champion D16 (#516); Ac #C86 - if you can find them; or NGK AB-6 (2910). Be sure to use a NON-resistor plug; in case someone tries to sell you a plug of some other number. Manufacturers are moving toward a one size fits many applications mentality - doesn't work well with this old stuff. The shear pin was an aluminum item; 3/16" x 15/16". Not a nail, as is often found in its place. Oh, point setting is .020". |
