Neil, you are right, that engine is pure Chapman. As it is made by Chapman & Sherack it would be no later than mid 1949, when they were bought out by Blaxland Rae. Because Chapman sold a lot of engines, it would be hard to know how many of any particular model exists. Even if there were 50 left, it is well worth buying. Looks like a clean, original engine. Yes Eric ,amalgamation published in "Seacraft' magazine July 1949 . Does look a good one ! Seller only bought it this time last year according to his communication with Gregoryan on this site . (See Sea Dog ). Greg might have more info ? Did you see the other dog in pics . ha ha ? John you always need another engine ! Neil |
