Just joined this group as a new (old) Blaxland 5/7 owner.

Wonderful site full of interesting information!!!

As I live (with a few others here) in Tasmania, resources can be fairly limited in regard to some services, knowledge and definitely parts acquision.

So....purely for selfish reasons, I feel it would be beneficial if we could start a list of "what state (Australia) we live in", and what our main interests are.....

I'm happy to be the first cab off the rank....

I'm Bruce. I live near Launceston Tasmania, and my interests are all things boating.
Originally worked at Stlyecraft Boats in Blackburn Victoria (Huntsman boats), with the legendary Graeme Williams etc.

I have a 25' sterndrive cruiser, a 16' runabout, and am looking for a clinker for my wonderful 5/7 Blaxland.

Cheers everyone

Bruce

I did notice in the trading post some weeks back that there were several clinkers for sale in NSW at Spencer which is on the Hawkesbury River NSW. They ranged in price from $500. Don't know if thier still about ??

My boat pics are in the "water in sump" thread under Blaxland

Thanks for the reply John.
Yes, I saw the same $500.00 boat on eBay.
Not overly keen on that particular boat mainly due to the wide beam and the fact that it is set up for an outboard.
The other "problem" of interstate boats is that the cost of getting them here to Tassie is pretty prohibitive.
I'm sure that I will find the boat I'm looking for right here in Tasmania....it's just a matter patience!
By the way...I'm not looking for a restored boat.
I'd always feel that I'm cruising around in someone elses boat, although I've seen some brilliant examples that make me green with envy!

Yup saw the pics of your boat John....and downloaded them into my "Blaxland file".
Cheers
Bruce
