I've an old Universal Flexi-Four (serial # C2326) which I'm guessing was made in the late teens. I'd love to find a source of the early history of the Universal Motor Company. I've seen reference to Early History of the Universal Motors website, but the site seems to have disappeared, all I get is a 404 erro message. I was told, back in 1984 by what was then the Customer Service Department of Medalist Industries, Inc., Oshkosh, WI that it was a "Flexifour C model, 12 HP at 1800 RPM with a 89 cu. in. displacement> Built between 1915 and 1925". I'm still trying to get this motor running properly. Any help or encouragement appreciated |
