If anyone can give me any info as to the vintage of this simple looking lump of cast iron I would greatly appreciate it. Found laying in the mud in an Eskimo village. Universal Fisherman Oshkosh Wis. Appx. 12-15 inch dia. flywheel out front with hand crank provision. Appx. 1.25" output shaft Lower half of of split case forms the large..4 gal? oil pan. Push rods are internal. Am I making any sence? Thanks! Lee Wilson [email protected] |

There was a Universal Fisherman model WM and WMG made by the Universal Motor Company. 4 cycle L-head, single cylinder, 4-3/8" x 4-1/2". 8HP at 1200 RPM. I'm not sure what years they were made. There is a history of Universal here but it doesn't indicate when they started production... just that the engine was include in the 1940 catalog. Regards, Andrew |
