I am having a Universal Model 6-85 engine rebuilt, serial number indicates 1929 manufacture. Does anyone have information on the the original paint color of this engine? I have an operator and parts list manual of uncertain date but it is printed in black and white. |

Richard, Your question is interesting. I have a Universal Victory Six (or type "VH" stamped on engine plate)from 1928. It would be nice to have the original color but there are no tracks of old paint. The Victory Six was only produced during the year 1928 according to information i got from Oskosh in 1985. It might have been some kind of high power version. It has alu crancase and twin Stromberg carburetors together with a Ricardo top. If you can find out about the color its intresting for me too. And Richard, is it possible to have a copy of the original dokumentation for your engine? |

Jan, You had asked me to look for a manual for your Universal "VH".... I don't have anything... in fact I couldn't find any reference to that model. Regards, Andrew |

Richard, A few weeks ago I got surprisingly an original manual in my hands covering Universal 6-75 and 6-85. Are you interested to have a copy so let me know. No info about engine color though. I have some questions about the Stromberg carbs that you might know something about. Please contact me. /Jan-Erik |
