There have been a number of posting with a no-longer valid link to the history of the Universal motor company. This one seems to work http://hessmarine.ca/universalhistory1.html |

The photos come up fine in Part 1 but just blank boxes with a very small red box with an X in it in Parts 2, 3, and 4. Is there something I need to do to turn those photos on? |

Not at the moment Hugh. Robert Hess told that getting those pictures to print is on his To-Do list but didn't give me a date when. Cheers Bob |

Have a 1964 Universal Unimite Four engine with a bronze-geared Sherwood water pump Serial G8450. The water pump bronze drive gear rotates on its stainless steel shaft. Can it be repaired or replaced? Universal manual indicates both two cylinder and four cylinder models used this gear-driven pump. Any thoughts. The gear is not welded and I don't see a pin to attach it to the shaft possibly pressed? Tom Hall Baltimore 410-350-9636 [email protected] |

Depending on the wear, it can be repaired with green Locktite. Otherwise, you'll have to ream it and press in a bushing. |
