I have a Universal Fisherman WMG with factory electric start & generator. Serial #66489. Can anyone tell me the year it was built and how can I find a rebuild manual. Thanks, Louie. |

I have just acquired a single cylinder Universal Fisherman WMG serial #66867 with transmission and all parts disassembled. It is complete with the shaft, stuffing box, cutlass bearing and a good brass propeller. The color is medium green with some evidence of having been painted a bright cadmium red originally. I am beginning to clean up the parts and have found the cylinder and rings to be in good condition as is the transmission. There is no rust to speak of except in the bottom of the crank case oil pan. The only questionable part is the ignition box which appears to be a sealed vibrator coil in rough condition. I would like to communicate with others who either have one of these running or are restoring one as I am. I looked up the Universal catalogs as listed below but none are available for this series. Contact me at [email protected] if you can assist. |
