Just brought this one home from New Hampshire. It is missing some parts but does have most of the adjustable pitch propeller mechanisim. It is a 5 HP twin - don't know the serial number yet.

Thanks to the absolutely fantastic archive and search capabilities of this web site, I was able to "mine" all the old Buffalo pictures that were posted here. What a great resource.

I need to make the input pipes - can someone plse tell me the O.D. of those pipes?

Thanks and special thanks to Andrew for creating such a great resource.

Bob Price

Richard,

That's great!

I included that little logo in your profile as a demonstration... but you can delete it or change it. Size limit is 150 pixels wide by 75 pixels high.

Also the "senior" member designation has nothing to do with age... it is based on number of posts. But the designations aren't showing up for everyone. Some longtime members may show up as "new member", please don't take offense, it is not intentional, let me know and I will fix it.

Richard,

You can include pictures the same way as you did on the old board, with the code. The upload button at the bottom of the message box is basically just pasting that same code into the message. It should be helpful for those who were not comfortable with the code. Maybe you did both?

After you post you can click on the little "paper and pencil" icon in the upper right of the message. I think you have 30 minutes to edit a message, and 10 minutes to delete a message with the other icon with the red x. I can adjust these times if neccessary. Editing can only be done if you post with your registration info... to prevent someone else from editing your post..

Keith,

The thumbnail photo from your profile looks good..

I'm not sure why the big photo in the post above has gone so far to the right... there may be a way I can set things to "wrap" and stay within a certian width... I will look into it.

keith, Is that aluminum in the Elbridge exhaust ports? It was either running on nitrous or ingested a feathercraft.

Keith,
I'm not sure why that is happening. I am still figuring out the features of this new format too. One thing you can do is make sure the the "code" for the picture is on a new line... put the curser before the code and hit enter, that should left justify it. It seems that for some reason some of the new messages don't "wrap" and tend to get very wide... I will look into what I can do about from my end.

Hey Guys, mice have crawled in and they store food in old engines, It is very common. I have had them get in many of my old engines over the years. They crawl in the exhaust pipe, sneak around an open valve and make their merry mischief everywhere. They can get in via the carb. also if air cleaner is not in place. Smitty

Yeah, and they are nasty too! I have a Lathrop in which they went in the crankcase via the carb intake hole, went up the intake port, and set up shop above and below the piston. I have never seen such awful housekeepers! For an animal that is going to survive a nuclear disaster, they sure are low-end! I found out that mice don't even have bladders. This means that they constantly pea on everything. No wonder the engines are pitted.
