I buy Buffalo gasolene motor, type=a, 2HP modell engine, manufacturing number is 167 (in cylinder bolks lid). How old is this engine? approx.? In this engine, sylinder lubrication works with two lubricators. How this engine connecting rods bearings lubrication works? Some kind of lubricators or should there be oil like in engines witch have splash lubrication? I have couples old stationary engine, but this kind lubrication is new for my. I live in Finland. Sorry my bad english. |

There are two of these engines in our club, one spark plug and one ignitor fired. The cylinder oil collects in the wrist pin and goes down to the big end of the rod. It would be best to remove the side cover and pre-lube the rod before initial start up as it would take a while for oil to get down there. These are great little engines. |

Do the main bearings need own lubricator or do they work with oil that drops from cylinders? Thanks for information about connecting rods bearings lubrication. |

Is the SAE 40 oil good for this engine? I have used that oil in other bigger old stationary engines. |

There should be a little reservoir above each main with felt in it. Prelube these also. SAE 40 or any motor oil should be fine for running as a show motor. |
