Anyone know if the Buffalo engine company Buffalo New York supplied auto engines to the Thomas Flyer Car Company of Buffalo New York in the 1907-1908 time period. In particular The Thomas Flyer car that won the race around the world in 1908. The two companies were neighbors in Buffalo so this would seem logical |

* Don In the yrs 1905-08 there were approx 21 engine companies in buffalo that made Marine engines, I am sure there were more engine mfgrs for other purposes. One engine mfgr was E.R Thomas, his engine design engineer was A.B, Shultz who resigned in late 1904 to take control of the Sterling Engine Co. also in Buffalo. I keep no records of automobiles but I would look to this engine Co. of the same name for ties to the Thomas Flyer ! Let us know what you discover ! |

Did the Buffalo Gasolene Motor co. give out metal key tags with purchase of a Launch/Boat/Engine? Do they look like this?<a href="http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/GorillaTaco/Buffalo%20Gasolene%20Motor% 20co/DSCF0012.jpg"<a href="http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/GorillaTaco/Buffalo%20Gasolene%20Motor% 20co/DSCF0007.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> |
