Has anybody had a go at removing and installing the brass tubes that the cylinder studs pass through. I need to remove them out of a cylinder casting I am restoring so as I can remove all rust and deposits.

Many Thanks
Garry

Garry ...technicaly i am sure you can do it . Getting the tubes out may present a problem though . You may have trouble not to damage the cylinder block itself . It is cast iron and age has made this brittle . If you get the tubes out without damage to the block you may have damaged the tubes. You should be able to de scale the water jacket without taking the tubes out. It takes time but the use of small chisels and scrapers is all i have ever used. Dont make extra work for your self!!!
