Im having problems with my p55, it runs just fine, but after maybe 20 mins it will get very noisy and quickly die. Its too quick to be fuel starvation to the carb, plugs/points and timing is fine. Compression test is ok when cold, and cooling water adequate. The only idea I have is the piston rings are not sealing when hot? any ideas?

Phil ...a bit of a puzzle . Are you running the correct oil mix ? Can you describe the ''very noisy'' sound, ie is it exhaust note or a mechanical noise something loose for instance.

I am sure this is too late for you! but the only two times my stuart did this was when water was NOT being pumped around the cooling system, they will sieze noisily and quickly, but to their credit, will free of in minutes with no apparent damage!they will run from cold without water for 10/20 minutes.fit a transparent pipe in the outlet so you can view water pumping from time to time.
