Hi All, I have recently obtained an R2 gen set comprising of the Stuart base plate, engine and dynamo but not the electric control(?) box that sits on top of the dynamo - does anyone know where I can get one from or if its possible to make one please? The engine number is 33619( 1940's?),300 watts,25/35 volts 12/8 amps. This engine uses thermodynamics to cool it- can anyone let me know what size water tank I need? Any help or guidance would be much appreciated. Thank you.Kev. |

Hi Kevin - Stuart recommended a 14 gallon tank for use with the R2 generating plants (19 gallons for the R3). If you're not going to run it @ full load for extended periods then you can get away with much less... The switchboards do occasionally crop-up for sale - there's quite a bit to them (a cut-out / field rheostat / fuses / ammeter / voltmeter / various switches / the electric start switch) - most of it could be fashioned from alternative components. Have a gad @ the attached (poor!) wiring diagram for inspiration. Ciao, H. } |
