I'm struggling to find the prop pitch sizes for the smaller Stuarts- particularly the R3M, MC and P5. An installation booklet tells me that the diameters of the props but not the pitches. The booklet was produced in the era of the P6 and P66 which, with their rated output of 5bhp delivered 1650 rpm, were faster revving by 150 rpm than the 4bhp P5 I own.

Elsewhere on the site I've seen the pitches for the P55 and P66 engines. Could anyone help with info on the smaller ones?

For info, the diameters are given as follows (3 bladed prop diameter first, 2 bladed 2nd)

R3M: 10" and 11" (right handed)

R3MC: Both prop types 8" (left handed)

P6: 10" and 11" (the 3 blade, 10" prop being reduced to 9.5" if a dynastart is fitted - no info on direction of rotation).

Grateful to anyone who can fill in the gaps, especially both the correct diameter and pitch for a P5 engine's prop.

Jon

Jon, The P5 prop size is 10" x 7" pitch Left Hand rotation.
P55 is 12" x 10" Left Hand. That is what is in my paperwork and came supplied with the P55.

Cheers, Dave

Thanks Dave. I currently have a 16' wooden boat undergoing repair and plan over the coming winter to replace its R3MC with my P5. Stern tube OD is the same so with some slight mods to the stern gear and some major mods to the engine bed I may tand a chance of fighting against the tide in the Tamar!
