well this has to be the holy grail for stuarts! the make or break of them and the resulting use as anchor blocks! Fuels have changed and the modern additives ruin the old seals causing starting & running issues especially when warm!
ST fitted synthetic rubber seals [part no 1485] to replacing the previous collar & ring on the older engines.
Now the catch-new oil seals are made of nitrile and are not fuel resistant so what's needed are viton oil seals which are fuel & oil resistant but off course hard to obtain in imperial measurements! Metric are obtainable but are slightly larger in size!
Imperial- 2"outer 1.5 inch inner
Metric- 52mm outer 38mm inner
Anyone had any experience with these and found a supplier?
thanks paul

You may be able to find Viton seals at www.mcmaster.com which is based in the U.S. and will take credit cards even for small purchases.

Good luck,

I have also found an SKF site online:
