That is a Stuart Turner R3M an early one with the Stuart brass carb and a wipac magnito. I have a later one with an amal carb. |

Den if you go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/stinfoexchange/ and sign up there is a wealth of information and workshop manuals for most Stuart marine engines. I'm almost sure there is a bit about dating these engines too as the R3M dates from the 1950's right up to the early 1970's. They were commonly fitted to day hire boats on lakes and seaside locations for many years. |

Hi Dennis - I'd place your engine as mid 1970's; the shallow float chambered Stuart carb, attached to the block via the right angled manifold was a very late variant. I have a 1976 R3MC with this arrangement... Regards, H. |

I have instruction manuals, blown up to A4, and bound in folders for R3M,s. Also some restored parts and magnetos. Plus gasket sets. Regards, David Schofield. |
