Posted first in the wrong place ! This time, I have bought this little RM 3 engine on spec,it turns, has compression and some spark . It is also missing a few important bits . I really want to see if the parts are available second hand before I spend more time etc It has what looks like half a centrifical clutch,ie a hollowed out half coupling with 4 dowels in it Also missing any starting shaft and top sprocket I would like to use the engine in a 13 foot flat bottom boat designed by William Aitken in the 1930 s for small inboard motors .I would be very greatful for any advice on this and could perhaps reciprocate with old Boat Info ,$$ etc ther appears to be little over here on the smaller stuart motors |

Hello Steve, As you may know, Fairways Marine (previously the only stockists of ST spares) have gone into administration. I have several R3MCs in bits at the moment and could probably find a spare clutch assembly. I'm not so confident about the top sproket but I'll have a rummage. I keep my engines on my Uncle's farm so I won't be able to tell you what bits I've got for certain until this weekend at the earliest. I think I've got a copy of a manual for the R3MC which I'm happy to photocopy for you if you're happy to pay postage and packing. Send me an e-mail to [email protected] and we can discuss prices for the bits you need. Cheers Jon |
