got it running now but the water pump is not pumpin water round is it a block or is the pump gone any tips on what too do befor i take it apart

Jamie ....Undo the hex caps on the water pump and check the inlet and out let valves.....lap them in if required . They may have a bit of debris stuck in the seat. |

might have found my problem took of the pipe that runs from the pump 2 the head off and blow down it and alot of rust came out of the outlet so that might have been the problem got 2 wait 2 weeks now for the tide to test the pump will let you know how i get on

the problem remains now i look at how do i get it off had a look but looks a hard job with it in the boat any help please

given all the rust in the pipe up from the pump to the cylinder head, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a blockage in the head. You could try blowing into the head rather than just into the pipe and see if you can manage to blow air through the cooling jacket on the cylinder block. if not, then it's time to get the engine out of the boat and strip down the block to clear out the cooling jacket. |
