Looking for some help. A friend and I have an old Acadia 4hp make and break engine. We've just bought an old 21' flat bottom dorey which will we be installing the engine. The dory used to be used with a make and break in it but original owner ( who has since passed ) took out engine and placed an outboard in this fine craft. We are at a stage that we have hole in bottom of boat closed over and have all ready for install of Acadia engine with pull up shaft. Would anyone have any drawings as to the proper way for this to work. We're confident we have figured out but would love to get others opinions. Again, drawings would be excellent! |

Perry, A very worthwhile project...! I have some other drawings I would have to find, but see below for the basics of what Atlantic included in their user's guide (ignore the prices... this unit was for sale. I might still be available from the guy that sent this in, but I"m not sure):

Andrew, thanks a ton! That drawing is excellent and will help us out big time. Anything else you may have will be greatly appreciated. We will have some shots of before and after. It sounds as though you would appreciate seeing them so will post once we get completed. Any other assistance greatfully accepted. |

There is also a "plan" view of this installation that I will scan and post in the next few days. Yes, please keep us posted on your progress... posting photos here would be great. |
