Hi all ! New to the forum and antique marine engines. Hope there are still some active members here that can lend a helping hand. I recently acquired a Gray model U, single cylinder. It has the piston type water-pump on the backside of the engine, carb is mounted on the port side. onto my question; my engine came with a model T Holley carburetor on it. I am in search for the proper Schebler, but do not know what model to look for. Is there a model number , like DX ### ? Thank you for the help ! |

Graham, Yes your Gray "U" uses a 1 inch Shebler. They are pretty common. I am not sure anyone has really figured out the DX numbers. Especially since over the years parts have been interchanged between carbs. Almost all of them use the same float bowl. Yes there are a ton of minor differences but most of them don't really matter. Rebuild parts are available from Otto Gas Engine Works. http://www.ringspacers.com/carbsche.htm Hope this helps Ernie |

Graham, I have a couple of 1" Scheblers if you are interested. Do you need a buzz coil too? Send me an email for details. Dick Briggs |
