Anyone found a modern replacement for the Schebler leather air valve disk? Anyone replaced theirs, and have any comments?

On a show engine that only idles I use a brass washer. On an engine that is run in a boat I use nylon.
Hope this helps

It's been a while since I've looked at mine in any detail. How thick is the original? And how thick do you make the Nylon, brass ones, etc.?

The brass is just a washer
Nylon I seem to remember 3/16 or so.

Ernie,

O.K. sounds good.

Looks like it doesn't have to flex in order to seal.

I've made a few like the originals, from leather, with the edge ground to an angle. I'll get some pictures of all the Dribbler parts that I offer posted.

George - I need one for a 1.00 inch Schebler that I am rebuilding. I have everything except the leather washer, the thingy that holds the washer and the conical spring.

Thanks

Bob
