Looking for an old brass carburetor. The motor is a VIM 2 stroke, built around 1910 to 1915, 3HP, 3 port (no check valve). The carb will mount onto a horizontal 3/4" female pipe thread or onto a flange that I will make to suit. Someone may know what make of carb was originally used, I don't. Hoping our on-line friends will look into their parts piles and help my motor to go . . . . puttputtputt |

Thanks Richard It's unstated in your posting, but I'm presuming you're telling me the Kingston carb is the correct one. So, now the quest is to find that Kingston, though I know I may have to go with something less. I had my VIM motor on the water all last summer, on the Ottawa River. This is a place where I land on the left bank and speak French, or land on the right bank and speak English. The place where I live is culturally challenging but interesting. I've been running a Marvel-Schebler carburetor made of pot metal given me by a friend, but I would like to find something closer to authentic. Thanks again puttputtputt |

The Kingston 5 ball carburetors don't fall out of the trees but they do show up occasionally. Two of them have sold on eBay in the past few months. The latest one sold within the past week or so for $61 (here is the eBay number 270687018047, you can still view it). It had some problems but it appeared restorable. On the opposite end of the scale, one sold a couple of months ago for $1500 or something close to that. But, it looked brand new. So, keep your eye out, there are a few of them around. |

My father inlaw has a very early 1900 Van Blerck engine which has what we thinks is a Kingston Carb on it but the fitting on the bowl for the needle was damage. Just wanted to know if you had any luck finding parts. Thank You Chad |

Check with Jon Hardgrove of The Carburetor Shop in Eldon, Missouri. [Phone: 573-392-7378] Jon has thousands of early carburetors in stock. Good luck. Enrique |

Enrique Thank You for the information. Mel has a couple of other issue we I was going to see if you could help with. 1) This engine has a Bosch D4 Model 1908 that work but needs to be gone through. Can you recommend anyone for that? 2)It has an Atwater Kent Distribtor it's missing the power box (Coil box). 3)It also has a Detriot Lubicator that he needs some parts, would you have anyone with knowledge of them and parts. |
