I'm hunting for a transmission housing that's compatible with a '40-'41 gray engine. I've been shown a potential match. The housing matches, but don't know enough about trannies to know if it's mounted to a 4cyl engine if it's compatible w a 6. I assume so, but would love to learn more about these transmissions. I have some sixes, but no fours to compare to. I would think they are different. |

Hi Ned. You have six cyl transmissions or engines with the transmissions for comparison? I've ruled out the four cyl option as they are indeed different. Here is the mounting plate I have for reference. |

I have one Gray '109' with a hydraulic Paragon reverse gear (1:1) - gear on the engine. I also have one Gray '109' with the mechanical gear (1:1) - gear and engine separate. |

Oops, sorry I missed your reply and question. Yes, both mine are post war engines |
