Hello Everyone, I posted this topic on "The Wooden Boat Forum" and wanted to post it here since only ONE person responded to me on the aforementioned site. So here is whats going on. I'm going to make this short and to the point. I've got a Gray Marine V8C-188 (327) engine that I'm pulling the heads off of for maintenance and such. The Port Side head has a crack/bridged weld on the rear exhaust port and I think someone might say its not fixable (I'm sure it could be but that's another subject for later when I post pictures). What I also have is a Gray Marine V8CF-220 (327) as a spare engine. What I wanted to do was pull the heads off that motor and swap them onto the 188. Has anyone done this before with success? They are the same exact engine other then the Horse Power rating and gearing I believe. Nonetheless a 327 block with the same heads and exhaust manifolds etc. Also I will be doing the valves and such as per maintenance. Link to the V8C-188 Engine: http://1drv.ms/1Css82c Link to the V8CF-220 Engine: http://1drv.ms/1Css9mU Any thoughts? Feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bartlomiej |
