I have a Gray 175 V8 (V8CH-175) that has been running great all summer. This week, it became a little hard to start and runs rough at idle RPM's with some stalling, and it is putting out something through the exhaust that is floating on top of the water. It doesn't look or smell like gas, I'm thinking oil. It runs fine at higher RPMs. Any thoughts? |

Looks like a carb problem. After shutting the engine off, fuel is still pouring into the carb/engine. I assume I have a stuck float, but a few gentle raps on the side of the carb has ot freed it up. Assuming the material coming out my exhaust and floating on the water is unspent fuel. Also assuming that it runs fine at higher RPMs because it can burn off the extra fuel, whereas at idle speeds, it is flooding itself. |
