Jeff, Mine does the same thing. I bought my boat from a guy who had restored it a few years ago and he used gauges from a Triumph sports car. I just bought a Gray Marine tach from a guy in Canada and I'm hoping that will do the trick. The face of the Gray Marine tach, I bought, is backwards of what you see in a car. The car tach needle goes clockwise and the Gray Marine tach needle goes counter-clockwise. I should get it in a few days and I will let you know if that does the fix. Otherwise, there are reverse elbows for tachs. There is a boat place in a town near here that sells those reverse elbows. Kind of pricey, however, at $205.00. In their catalog they call it a "Tach Reverse Rotation Adapter". Their web address is classicboatconnection.com |
