I recently purchased a sailboat with a Gray 4cyl 112 and have had several fuel supply issues with the existing fuel pump 2.5 psi max. There was a rebuilt kit in the boat but only the diaphram seem to be the right part. No improvement. I hooked up an electric fuel pump as part of my troubleshooting and she ran great.... My question is there any reason not to switch to electric? And should the pump go before or after the fuel filter???? Any advice would be appreciated.... |

Your old pump should be 5 to 7 psi. If its not antique eletric is fine. If the eletric pump has no built in filter then after the filter is better. |

Steve here again with the Gray Four 112. I have the engine running great after installing the electric fuel pump. Which reminds me anyone know where I can get a rebuild kit for my original pump? The only numbers on it are 3474. Back to my immediate problem, the tranny will not go into reverse????? I've adjusted the reverse gear pure instructions from the manual but no go...? it will only grind if I try to force it??? I know from the manual it's a Paragon tranny. Where can one get parts or info? The boat has sat for almost a year. The previous owner swears by the reliability of this unit???? Either way it's my problem now, can anyone help educate me on this unit? So I could leave the dock??? Thanks Steve. |

Here is one thing to look for. The brake drum lining is worn and when you go in reverse you cannot tighten the adjustment nut any further. Put a couple of washers between the nut and the frame the nut tightens against. It may be you simply have run out of threads on the take up screw. Just a guess but worth considering. Good luck. |

Hello everyone it's me again. Besides needing fuel system rebuild kits I'm in need of some advice or parts for my reverse gear. It's the OXK model. Ive tried one readers suggestion and that didn't do it. She just wont go??? The brake lining looks ok but she refuse to go in ? Forward gear works like a dream anyone have an Idea???? I would like to get out of the slip this summer LOL steve |

Now someone correct me if wrong ,but you have to hold the lever in reverse it does not lock like forward does. So if you are trying to ajust for that, its not possible. |

Well thanks for that info... According to my manual I should be able to adjust reverse to get the same "click" into gear as the forward?? Thanks again..... |
