The manifold that I have now has about a 10 inch crack. Would like to find a replacement manifold. The engine is a 1952 Greymarine Phantom Six- 112 with two Zenith carbs. |

Shaun, Just a little known trick that might work until you find the part: if the crack is stable and in a well-cooled region of the manifold (water jacket), use epoxy like JB Weld. You would grind a vee shaped crevice along the crack using dremel tool. Make sure she's fully dry though. I used this on a small crack with my 4-91 manifold and seems permanent fix. |

I have a twin carb updraft manifold for a 135 model. I don't know if they are interchangeable. Dave |

Shaun, I had the same issue and took it to a welding specialty shop. The weld failed so I ended up buying a used, pressure tested manifold and it works great. However, it took me awhile to find one so I ended up buying an engine for parts. I will have it pressure tested and send U pics if interested. I would also be interested in a detailed pic of your throttle to carb linkage as mine is jury rigged and works OK but not perfect. Call or e-mail me. Thanx, Pete 231.794.9178 |

Greetings: I have a mid-'60's vintage Four-80 that starts and runs ok, but the water jacket is full of nasty black corrosion that looks fatal to me. I am resigned to overhauling and either getting the block baked and shot blasted or finding a decent block and head to use as a core. Can anyone tell me if a Hyster Continental forklift block would work, or are there differences between the industrial and marine versions of this engine? Phil |
