Hello,

I'm in the process of restoring a 60' Correct Craft Atom with a Gray Marine 4 cylinder.

The old tachometer cable is broken and needs to be replaced. It's roughly 12-15 ft, I haven't taken it out yet so I don't know the exact length.

Does anyone know where I could get a compatible cable?

Thanks,
Keith

Keith, Check out Boatdesigns.com for tach cables or hunt down your local friendly farm tractor service center/dealer for their ideas. What engine does you '60 Atom have?

Thanks for the quick response!

The engine is a Gray Marine Model 70.

I see that boatdesigns has tach cables, but they don't have a picture so I can't tell if the ends are the same. Does anyone know if they are standard?

I've asked around at the marinas here, but as soon has they hear what it's for they usually laugh and say "good luck!"

Keith, I have to believe the old Brass Era car collectors have sources. Take a look at Hemmings Motor News web site or pick up a copy at your local magazine rack and look through the "services section". The gray "70" seems to have been the Correct Craft Atom engine of choice for a number of years. I had a truck/auto electric shop that would custom make cables using the old cable ends years ago but the technician retired and the service went away....
