My Fireball 195 (Another version that is not called out in the standard shop manual) did a superb job of pushing my old 23' Lyman from upper Lake Champlain to Manhattan and back last month. Late in trip developed slight valve clatter port side forward. Post trip inspection revealed that the forward port valve gear (lifter/rockerarm/spring) was completely dry. Oil pressure 40 psi. Any suggestions on what to do ? |

If you have hydrolic valve lifters the lifter down in the block is not pumping oil and will need to be replaced. I have a friend who drilled a hole in his valve cover and manually oiled one of his valves for a summer. He pulled the engine and overhauled it that winter. |
