Hi there...im trying to get a date of manufacture for a six:51 engine which came out of a richardson "little giant" im in the process of restoring and was wondering if anyone can help me.the original engine is siezed solid but ive managed to get another 6:51 in good order. the numbers are 62017 for the old one & 61678 for the new lump.....any help in dating these & any other info would be a great .....ive enclosed a photo of the new engine which ive tidied up...many thanks...  |

HI MIKE: BOTH ENGINES ARE 1936 MODELS. LUGGER 6-51 55HP AT 2200 RPM. EXPRESS 6-51 71HP AT 3000 RPM JOHN |

THANKS JOHN, 1953 WAS THE ONLY YEAR IVE HAD TO GO BY AS THIS WAS ON A NAME PLATE FOR THE TOILET SO THEY'RE OLDER THAN I THOUGHT....COULD YOU TELL ME IF THE GEARBOXES ARE THE SAME ON BOTH ENGINES (I.E.NO REDUCTION)? CHEERS MARK |
