I have acquired a Gray Motor, built in Detroit Mi the serial number is 02143. My engine is a two cylinder and is perfect new condition. Any additional information about this engine would be most appreciated. Thank you, Len Williams

Len, You have a Gray Model "U". I have a single just like yours. I had a twin like yours a few years ago. By the way you will need 2 buzz coils to run the engine. The sparkplug wires will go to the coils and not the timer like yours is presently wired. Bill, what is that behind the Gray? Hope this helps Ernie |

Bill, I have two of this model and I think they came on the market about 1922. Bob Merriam, told me he had spent a summer at a camp where he lived with one of this model. He said it performed very well. |

Ernie, I have no clue as to that little two cylinder, I bought it cheap at a swap meet in Minnesota, and it seemed like a neat, but completely stripped motor. When I clean that area up, I will post some pictures and let you take a guess. bill

Paul Does your engine have two seperate cylinders ? Is the water pump on same shaft below timer on flywheel end of engine ? If so, then you have a 6 Hp 1911. If description is different let me know ! |

Len, I bought that engine off eBay. I can't remember if it was you I bought it from. A friend and I have completely restored it to original condition. If I get the chance I will send you pictures. I can't shrink my pics to 100kb and have to get help so it may take a little while. Hamp |
