I am slowly working over my NL-1. It looks like I should replace the rubber check disks in the water pump. Is there a source for these? Otherwise I was going to cut them from 50 durometer neoprene. I found a manufacturer but there is a 100 piece minimum so that's not attractive unless a lot of others want them.

George,
If you still have a real hardware store in your area look for neoprene valve seats (faucet washers) Not real high tech here. It's like what ever works.
Hope this helps
E

By the way Dick Day may have something, however he is at Tuckahoe, MD until next sunday nite.

I found 1.5" dia rubber washers with 3/8" holes and 1/8" thick at a good hardware store. I was looking for something thicker since the originals were 1/4". I tried out the 1/8" washers and they seem to work well. Thanks for the tip. They were practically under my nose.

Glad to help. If they turn out too thin just put two in, one on top of another.
By the way where are you located? Does your engine have a tag? If so does Dick Day have your S/N in his list of Palmer serial numbers?
Have fun with your Palmer
Ernie

I live in Springfield, VA. The engine doesn't hava a tag. I've been talking with Dick Day since I found the engine earlier this year. From his clues it is 1923 or later. It's a close match to the one at Calvert.
