I just purchased a 1946 Crocker catboat. It is in pretty sad shape, but i hope to restore it. It will be my first restoration. First boat, really. Anyway, it came equipt with a Palmer BH-25 . I am looking for information on restoring this engine. I am looking for general info on the restoration and setting up of old marine engines. Any additional information will be greatly appreciated.

Robes,

We sell a manual that covers overhaul of the BH-25 engine.

You can also review this board for questions and answers about the Palmer BH-25 and the PW-27 engines.

Use the search link above and search this board for "Palmer bh" and select the "and" dropdown so that it will search for both.

You also might post the serial number of the engine here, Dick Day is keeping an listing of Palmer Serial numbers.

Regards,
Andrew

thanks Andrew;
I have been enjoyng that manual from before I brought the engine home. I was just looking for answers or advice about very basic questions like: how to clean out the water jacket which seems to be full of some kinda ooze? or what size primer cup and petcock to purchase?
