Richard and/or Eddie: I'm doing some spring maintenance an decided to check the air bleed line as you have suggested. It was clear, but in the process of disconnecting it I broke the brass connector on the hose that attaches to the thermostat. Any ideas on where to get a replacement? Is it a standard type of fitting, or would I need to get it custom made? Thanks, Marlon |

Just replace the hose with a short section of 5/16" copper tube. Use brass compression fittings with 1/8" pipe thread. You can find them at any hardware store. Don't turn it into a big deal. You did not explain if you checked if the fittings into the thermostat and head were clear. Often the blockage is in those fittings. |

Richard: Thanks for the information. I did check the fittings, and they are clear too. While I'm at the boat today, I'll check the serial no. and get that to you. Thanks, Marlon |

Richard: I'm still looking for the replacement parts, but I have faith. My engine serial no. is 707005 and the symbol above that looks to be an A over an M. Marlon |

Yes, it's cast into the motor just left of the flywheel. |

That's a mold number. The serial number is impression stamped onto a thin sheet metal ID tag which should be on the exaust manifold. Mine was 5 didgets a dash and then 2 didgets. The last 2 didgets seem to be the year manufactured. |
