I have a 1974 Ericson 27 sailboat with a Palmer P60 engine. It is currently raw water cooled. Since it was based on the IH60 engine seen in the Cub tractors, I wanted to purchase a Cub radiator. It would seem that all I would need to do is connect the inlet/outlet at the appropriate places and perhaps change the thermostat to enjoy a fresh water cooled engine. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance. Steve |

Steve, Can't get around it. You need to use a water heat exchange system. Indigo Electronics makes an after market system for Atomic4's that could work on a P-60. You would have to jury rig the pulley for the added raw water pump. I'm in the same situation and am trying to come up with a soluton. Eddie |

``I've seen homemade mud boats around here with radiators, these engines are out in the open. If the engine is in a hull the heat would be unbearable, wouldn't be too efficient if closed in. |
