Hi all, I am starting to strip my MD2B down. Amazingly, all nuts and bolts are free so far but I have an issue with the heads.

It seems such a simple task but how do I lift the heads off when the oil pipe line to the rocker shafts doesn't appear to fit through the space in the head? The bottom end of the oil line is buried in the crankcase and i can't see a way to get to it. The manual says lift straight off but it is almost as though I will have to remove the cylinder studs to rotate the head allowing the oil feed pipe to fit down the space.

I have a strong engineering background and, if this engine measures up well, will be converting it to a closed antifreeze system for cooling and two alternator output.

Thanks for reading.

It has been about 40 years since I have had one apart. So my memory may be foggy... I don't remember anything other than unbolting stuff and removing the heads.

Hope this helps
