hi there, i need to replace the oil filter on my m27 from 1947 . i ordered a new one according to the original engine manual but its too wide. Now if i look closely, the filter on the engine is slightly different than the one in the manual.
Does anyone have any clue which model it could be? thanks arno |

Most marine engine manufacturers used automotive parts where they could, to keep costs down. Since a marine application is nowhere near as "dirty" as a land based application, you can probably substitute an automotive or stationary engine equivalent. Talk to an experienced auto parts guy and he'll likely find one for you. miro |

Gently clean the old one and look for a part number on it. DO NOT wipe it as you will wipe off the number. Try spray carb cleaner. |
